Join us for a reflective Lenten walk through Mt Coot-tha forest. This reflective Camino (Spanish for “the way”), will follow a series of images that were created by artist Lyndsay Farrell that relate to Christian Spirituality and the path that Jesus walked. Each image illustrates a station for reflection and alludes to a local place, prayer and the Christian story.
The Mt Coot-tha area holds stories that are from the sacred dreaming of the first Australians. This camino seeks to respect those stories.
Local artist Lyndsay Farrell created this reflective Camino in 2018 for all to share. Lindsay Farrell was an artist and teacher. He had been inspired as he walked and painted Camino pilgrim paths in Spain, Italy, France and Australia. Lindsay had walked and painted pictures inspired by Camino walks in Brisbane City, Rocks River Park and Mt Coot-tha. After a courageous battle with cancer, Lindsay passed away on 11/7/2020 at 67 years old.
