Lenten Camino – Saturdays in Lent – Faber Qld

Saturday, 9, April 2022 @ 7:00 am - 10:00 am

A LENTEN MINI-CAMINO

with Min Wullems, Cecilia and David Formby

Do something positive for Lent, rather than just giving something up!

Join us for a series of reflective Lenten mini-Caminos (Spanish for “The Way”) through the Mt Coot-tha bushland.  The Caminos will follow a series of images that were created by artist Lyndsay Farrell, which relate to the way of the Cross, as walked by Jesus in the scriptures.

Each image illustrates a station of the Cross, pondering Jesus’ Passion, as it resonates with a specific place in the Mt Coot-tha bushland.

Mt Coot-tha, the ‘place of the honey bee dreaming,’ holds stories that are from the sacred dreaming of the First Nations people, the Camino seeks to respect those stories and their land on which we walk.

Bon Camino!

Local artist Lyndsay Farrell created this reflective Camino in 2018 for all to share. Lindsay Farrell was an artist and teacher. He had been inspired as he walked and painted Camino pilgrim paths in Spain, Italy, France and Australia. Lindsay had walked and painted pictures inspired by Camino walks in Brisbane City, Rocks River Park and Mt Coot-tha. After a courageous battle with cancer, Lindsay passed away on 11 July 2020 at 67 years of age.
