Contemplative Walk – Royal National Park, NSW

Sunday, 21, August 2022 @ 8:30 am - 12:30 pm

“Our common home is like a sister with whom we share our life and a beautiful mother who opens her arms to embrace us.” (Laudato Si, 1)

Take some time to allow the divine presence in nature to be with you, as we walk within the Wattamolla region of the Royal National Park. The morning will include, a guided input and contemplation, quiet walking, time for reflection and sharing.

The walk begins at Wattamolla Beach and heads north along the Coastal Track to Marley Beach before heading back to Wattamolla along the same track. Sydney’s heritage-listed Royal National Park was established in 1879 and stands on Dharrawal country. It is the world’s second-oldest National Park and features unique heritage attractions, along with fascinating plants, birds, and animals.

The Coastal Track from Wattamolla to Little Marley is part of a spectacular coastal walk along the cliffs of the Royal National Park that goes between two beaches. Mostly boardwalk with some rocky track, the views are amazing and the wildflowers stunning when in season. There are a few uphill sections but otherwise the walk is quite flat and easy. There are lots of pass points along the boardwalk and places to pause. Keep your eye out for birdlife!

The Walk: The Walk is graded as ‘Easy’ and is suitable for most ages and fitness levels. Some bushwalking experience is recommended. The path may have short steep hill sections, a rough surface, and many steps.
