This Online Ignatian Series is designed as a small group faith sharing experience that would suit anyone who is seeking to learn more about Ignatian Spirituality, and who has a desire to incorporate this into their daily life.
For Ignatius, the spiritual life is a true pilgrimage and requires not a map but a “way of proceeding” to get to the destination. D Fleming SJ
Whilst Ignatius initially set out alone on his pilgrim journey, he soon came to see the need to journey with others. He later describes in his autobiography, that in his time of study at the University of Paris, “he gathered about him a number of companions.” Companions, who became the first members of the Society of Jesus.
It is our hope that those who come together to walk these prayer paths will find a deep sense of companionship with those who travel alongside them.
These exercises are specifically designed to be made with others, and are ideally suited to an Ignatian Faith Sharing Group.
This first “Companions on The Way” series is called Walking with God, where each session (or Path) will provide participants with Prayer and Reflection material that will introduce them to the ‘Ignatian Way’. It will include Scripture, Songs and Poems, and a selection of contemporary Ignatian Voices.
The paths include….
- Path 1 – Walking with God who is Present
- Path 2 – Walking with God who Loves
- Path 3 – Walking with God who Creates
- Path 4 – Walking with God who Knows Me
- Path 5 – Walking with God who Calls Me
This will be a valuable tool for personal growth and integrating spirituality into daily living.
