New Board of Jesuit and Ignatian Spirituality Australia

Rob Laidler, Chair of the newly appointed JISA Board

The Jesuit and Ignatian Spiritualty Australia Limited (JISA) Board has been appointed and met for the first time in September with Ian Cribb SJ and the national team at Peter Canisius House in Pymble, Sydney. We welcome the following Board members and look forward to a fruitful and grace filled relationship as we promote the way to God through the Spiritual Exercises and discernment.

Rob Laidler is the chair of the JISA Board. Rob is a Leadership and Education Consultant and Mentor. He has experience in formation, education, leadership and planning. From 2006-2014 Rob was Principal of Loyola Senior High School Mount Druitt NSW, a foundation of the Jesuits.

Ruth Morgan is a spiritual director, retreat facilitator, formator and giver of the Spiritual Exercises of St Ignatius. She is currently National Manager of Formation and Ethics for Little Company of Mary Healthcare, and has experience in research, policy, education and leadership development. Ruth was Director of Canisius Centre of Ignatian Spirituality in 2005-2008.

Elizabeth Dodds rsc is a Sister of Charity, a Commissioner on the National Catholic Education Commission and chairs the Commission’s Standing Committee: Faith Formation and Religious Education. She has experience in education, governance and leadership formation within Church ministries. Elizabeth conducted the review which informed the establishment of JISA in 2019.

Paul Hayes is a senior consultant specialising in leadership, governance, risk, compliance, strategic analysis, planning and collaborative stakeholder relationships for faith-based not-for-profit organisations. Paul advised on the governance restructuring of Jesuit owned and governed schools and the newly established Jesuit Education Australia.

Kath Corbett is a Head of Business Services for the Marist Brothers Province of Australia. She is a CPA qualified accountant with experience in financial and operational management, budget planning and reporting and compliance.

Nico Larioso SJ is a Jesuit priest, chaplain, teacher, pastoral mentor retreat and immersion leader at St Aloysius and Jarjum Colleges in Sydney.

John Daly is the secretary of the JISA Board and is the Director of Finance and Special Projects for the Australian Province of the Society of Jesus. John previously worked for Jesuit Social Services in Melbourne.

Chair, Rob Laidler stated he was looking forward to working  with the experienced and skilled team of Directors and JISA teams and contributing to this important, Australia wide, ministry of the Province.
