Annmaree Sutton’s poem, A Raging Bull, Cannonball Fire and A Noble Man, was born out of her work in Ignatian Spirituality and the Corpus Christi Community in Greenvale. The work of Corpus Christi reaches some of the most marginalised and vulnerable in the Melbourne community, providing accommodation and support for marginalised older men with a history of homelessness, addiction, or complex health needs. Two reflection questions follow for you to ponder.
A Raging Bull, Cannonball Fire and A Nobleman
What is your story of transformation and joy, which helps you explore the life of Ignatius? How might your stories bring healing to the world?
“Vulnerability, frailty, helplessness; are all found in the poem along with a strong relationship with God. How do you experience this in your life? Contemplate the picture; how does it speak to you?”
Thank you to Annmaree Sutton for this contribution to our Erromeria Pilgrimage. Annmaree is a Giver of the First Spiritual Exercises and Coordinator of the Corpus Christi Spirituality Ministry at JISA Campion. She works with JISA Spiritual Directors Anne Priestley RSM and David Ryan SJ in the Corpus Christi Ministry.
