Welcome to 2021

Happy New Year from Jesuit and Ignatian Spirituality Australia, and welcome to the first of our monthly newsletters for 2021.

If you are not yet a subscriber to our monthly email newsletter and regular retreat updates please click here to subscribe.

This year we shall explore different pathways of Ignatian prayer and wisdom, to help you navigate your way through the joys and challenges of daily life.  We look forward to engaging with you through the sharing of personal stories and invite you to join us in prayers and reflections.  We hope to nourish you with book and film reviews, and every now and again, touch on relevant global issues. We continue to highlight the Spiritual Exercises, Ignatian retreats, spiritual direction, Ignatian formation for mission and hospitality.

In May this year, we commence The Ignatian Year, a celebration of the 500 year anniversary of St Ignatius of Loyola.  This special anniversary period will provide many opportunities to explore in depth, the life of Ignatius and his spirituality which continues to bring Christ’s healing, new life and hope to so many.

In this edition, we invite you to pause, and through an Examen, sift through the joys and challenges of last year.  Jennifer Hickey shares how the Examen has been transformative in her life.  Geraldine Naismith reflects on her experiences of the Ignatian Camino pilgrimage, plus we highlight Peter Canisius House in Pymble, Sydney, as a special place of retreat and hospitality and much more.

Welcome to 2021, may the year unfold in many unexpected and blessed ways for us all. From the JISA Newsletter Team
