Peter Canisius House – a hidden gem!

Residential retreats and gatherings in Pymble Sydney.

Situated on five acres of beautiful gardens and bushland in Pymble on Sydney’s leafy North Shore, Peter Canisius House offers 45 bedrooms, five modern meeting spaces and a large dining room with professional chefs and plenty of parking, all in a Covid safe and approved environment.

An ideal venue for your next retreat, meeting or event.

Peter Canisius House specialises in residential individual and group retreats and gatherings for schools, not for profit and private business sectors. And now that Covid-19 restrictions are easing, PCH is open for group bookings as well as quiet retreats.

“Those who come here do so regularly. Many people visit for spiritual direction. We have day groups and meetings here as well as residential retreats and workshops.” states Sandra Cary, who looks after Jesuit and Ignatian Spirituality Australia and Peter Canisius House’s bookings and promotions.

“We are a hidden gem, with this much space so close to Sydney’s CBD”

There are two labyrinths on the property, one Chartres pattern and one classical pattern for guests to use and of course the much-loved Chapel. PCH is also a short walk to the park and local shops for anyone who likes to explore.

Guests at Peter Canisius House are enjoying the professional dining with new chef Brian. “He has been great with the transition from buffet to plated meals and making our dining COVID safe. We are certainly enjoying Brian’s creations, the pistachio stuffed chicken with sweet potato that he served recently was a big hit!” Sandra exclaims.

Peter Canisius House welcomes a wide variety guests such as individual retreatants, parish staff retreats, school student retreats, Ignatian Spirituality retreats, psychology workshops, Buddhist retreats, Rotary meetings, art classes, and so on. “I like that we host people of all denominations and they feel at home here” says Sandra.

“Turramurra Rotary visit us weekly for their dinner meeting. Recently they presented us with a certificate for assisting their Manus Island Project volunteers.”
